The Kenya Experience - 7 days

Welcome to Mama Africa!  

Arrive in Nairobi, where you are met and transferred to your hotel. 

Welcome dinner today is at The Carnivore restaurant.

At Carnivore, meats are roasted on traditional Maasai swords over a huge charcoal pit that dominates the restaurant's entrance. The rough-hewn beams combine the rustic feel of a rural setting with that of a medieval banqueting hall.

The Carnivore doesn't conform to the familiar restaurant traditions. First, the soup of the day along with a plate of home baked bread and butter are served. Then, an army of carvers move table to table, swords laden carving juicy cuts onto sizzling cast-iron plates. Accompanying the meat feast is a selection of salads, vegetable side dishes and sauces.

You have the day in Nairobi to explore the surroundings

We’ll visit Giraffe Centre - a sanctuary for the then endangered Rothschild giraffe, followed by a visit to the Kazuri bead factory - You have an opportunity to meet and talk to the women as they work shaping, painting or stringing the beads by hand. You’ll also get a chance to drive through Nairobi City center.

Drive through Kenyatta International Convention Center to view Nairobi from all directions (Dependent on management authorization). Drive through the Kenya Parliament and the Supreme court of Kenya. Visit Uhuru Gardens, Kenya’s largest Memorial Park. Uhuru is a Swahili word meaning freedom. Of importance to note is that it is Kenya’s birthplace. This is where the first Kenyan flag was first raised and thus marking the very first year of independence on the 12th December 1963.

Within the garden are two monuments commemorating Kenya’s independence, and a Mugumo (fig) tree. The Mugumo tree is symbolic as it was planted on the spot where the Union Jack (British flag) was brought down and Kenya’s national flag was first hoisted. The site was a diversity of native flora and fauna of savannah woodland.

Later, we enjoy a meal together and explore Nairobi night life

Drive to Amboseli National Park, known for its thriving big-game population, especially elephants, more than 1,000 of which live in the park. From a distance, take in views of the highest mountain in Africa, the snowcapped Mount Kilimanjaro, with its impressive Uhuru Peak soaring to 19,341 feet. Arrive at your lodge set beneath acacia trees in the shadow of Kilimanjaro. 

After lunch, explore the acacia woodland, freshwater swamps, scrub brush and open plains in search of wildlife. Part of the park is composed of a dried-up lake bed, where mirages rise from the shimmering heat.

Set out on early morning game drives, crisscrossing the landscape in search of the park’s large herds of elephants, as well as zebras and wildebeests, along the salt pan trails. Prepare for predator sightings as opportunistic animals begin roaming the plains in search of prey.

In the afternoon, head out again for another game drive that reveals even more of East Africa’s natural wonders. Get to experience a One-hour visit to a traditional Maasai Village You will interact with the Maasai villagers there, see their mud hut dwellings, known as Manyatta’s, and learn about their unique  way of life. There’s also an option of buying hand-made items of craft and jewelry from the Maasai women.

Return to your camp for dinner followed by a relaxing evening under African skies.

Enjoy an early morning breakfast at the hotel. Check out and be transferred to Emali train station for your journey to Mombasa.

This half-day tour will immerse you in the international history and flavors of this culturally rich city.

Tour starts in the early morning to avoid the high day temperatures

Later in the afternoon transfer to Mtwapa for your 2hrs Sailing Experience

Tonight enjoy a nice dinner and finish the night enjoying the best of Mombasa nightlife.

Today enjoy pristine white sandy beaches of Mombasa. The hotel sits on one of the longest, lush beachfronts on the Kenyan Coast. Enjoy the swimming pool and the beach as you sip on cocktails.
