We’ll visit Giraffe Centre - a sanctuary for the then endangered Rothschild giraffe, followed by a visit to the Kazuri bead factory - You have an opportunity to meet and talk to the women as they work shaping, painting or stringing the beads by hand. You’ll also get a chance to drive through Nairobi City center.

Drive through Kenyatta International Convention Center to view Nairobi from all directions (Dependent on management authorization). Drive through the Kenya Parliament and the Supreme court of Kenya. Visit Uhuru Gardens, Kenya’s largest Memorial Park. Uhuru is a Swahili word meaning freedom. Of importance to note is that it is Kenya’s birthplace. This is where the first Kenyan flag was first raised and thus marking the very first year of independence on the 12th December 1963.

Within the garden are two monuments commemorating Kenya’s independence, and a Mugumo (fig) tree. The Mugumo tree is symbolic as it was planted on the spot where the Union Jack (British flag) was brought down and Kenya’s national flag was first hoisted. The site was a diversity of native flora and fauna of savannah woodland.

Later, we enjoy a meal together and explore Nairobi night life

DAY 3

Lake Nakuru National Park | Pink Hues Galore

After breakfast, depart by road driving through the rich Kikuyu farmlands to the Lake Nakuru National Park

This little park is a haven for rhinos, you will see several of them grazing the shoreline of the lake or wallowing in the mud. Lake Nakuru, a shallow, soda lake in the Rift Valley was once famous for being home to some of the biggest flocks of flamingos in the world. Due to the increase in water level, the flamingos migrated to other lakes in the Rift Valley. However, Lake Nakuru and its surrounds are home to many other bird species including pelicans, cormorants, black-winged stilts, avocets, and in the European winter dozens of migrant waders. From the large fish eagles with their enormous six-foot wingspan and haunting cry to the small and tiny jewel-colored pygmy kingfisher, life thrives here in feathered abundance.

Lake Nakuru National Park, created in 1960 specifically on account of the extraordinary bird life here, complements what the lake has to offer. Besides its magnificent bird life, it is also a rhino sanctuary, one of the best places in Kenya to see both black and white rhinos. As a result of the haven, you'll see Rothschild's giraffe here, relocated from Uganda in the mid-seventies to protect them.

The park shares other secrets: it's home to the rare long-eared leaf-nosed bat and a resident population of tree climbing lions.

WOW!!!!!! Let's just say, it would be very difficult to verbalize how great our trip was as a result of booking with Certified Africa. My wife and I are avid travelers, touching 16 countries so far. We usually create our own itinerary and almost ALWAYS focus on hanging with locals to gain the most intimate and organic experiences possible. Nonetheless, this was our 15-year Anniversary trip and thought it would be a great idea to allow someone else to plan the trip and sit back and enjoy it. With only an introduction call to discuss some must haves and our set budget, Certified Africa DELIVERED!!!!!!!! Creating a custom itinerary that blew our minds and expectations. We have already begun planning our Tanzania and Zanzibar trip for 2022. From me and my beautiful wife to you........What are you waiting for????????????? Book your next trip to the Motherland with the only travel company we feel comfortable recommending, Certified Africa! Richard and Raquel
