Later in the afternoon visit Giraffe Centre is the headquarters for AFEW, the African Fund for Endangered Wildlife. Made famous by Daisy Rothschild - a giraffe calf rescued from Soi on the border of Western Kenya. Giraffe Centre was established in 1983 as a sanctuary for the then endangered Rothschild giraffe. The breeding Programme has been a great success and visitors can now watch these gentle giants at eye level from a raised platform. There is also the opportunity to learn more about giraffe at the interpretation centre and hand- feed them whilst watching the semi-tame family of warthogs snuffle around their hooves in search of tid bits.
After the giraffe center, you’ll enjoy a welcome dinner at The Carnivore restaurant; a unique pit stop before you venture into the Amboseli for an African safari!
At Carnivore, meats are roasted on traditional Maasai swords over a huge charcoal pit that dominates the restaurant's entrance. The rough-hewn beams combine the rustic feel of a rural setting with that of a medieval banqueting hall.
The Carnivore doesn't conform to the familiar restaurant traditions. First, the soup of the day along with a plate of home baked bread and butter are served. Then, an army of carvers move table to table, swords laden carving juicy cuts onto sizzling cast-iron plates. Accompanying the meat feast is a selection of salads, vegetable side dishes and sauces
06:30 hrs. – Our driver guide will pick you up from your Nairobi hotel and we’ll head out in private 4 x 4 Jeep over smooth highway with rest stops along the way to stretch and take in the views.
Once you have arrived at the lodge, check in and be shown to your room where you can freshen up in time for lunch. After lunch there are a few hours to relax and enjoy before setting off into the bush for an afternoon game drive.
Amboseli National Park at the base of soaring, snowcapped Mount Kilimanjaro, which, at 19,341 feet, is the highest freestanding mountain in the world. Set out in search of the region’s spectacular wildlife. Amboseli’s huge draw is elephants. Watch as big herds roam the dusty plains, including “tuskers,” large, older bulls who have grown impressive tusks.
Get to experience a One-hour visit to a traditional Maasai Village You will interact with the Maasai villagers there, see their mud hut dwellings, known as Manyatta’s, and learn about their unique way of life.

WOW!!!!!! Let's just say, it would be very difficult to verbalize how great our trip was as a result of booking with Certified Africa. My wife and I are avid travelers, touching 16 countries so far. We usually create our own itinerary and almost ALWAYS focus on hanging with locals to gain the most intimate and organic experiences possible. Nonetheless, this was our 15-year Anniversary trip and thought it would be a great idea to allow someone else to plan the trip and sit back and enjoy it. With only an introduction call to discuss some must haves and our set budget, Certified Africa DELIVERED!!!!!!!! Creating a custom itinerary that blew our minds and expectations. We have already begun planning our Tanzania and Zanzibar trip for 2022. From me and my beautiful wife to you........What are you waiting for????????????? Book your next trip to the Motherland with the only travel company we feel comfortable recommending, Certified Africa! Richard and Raquel
