Travel Requirements for U.S. Citizens
Passport
- Must be valid for at least 30 days beyond your intended departure date from South Africa
- At least two blank visa pages are required (not endorsement pages)
Visa
- No visa required for stays of up to 90 days for tourism or business
- If staying longer, apply for an extension through the Department of Home Affairs
Return or Onward Ticket
- Immigration may ask for proof of return or onward travel
Yellow Fever Certificate (If Applicable)
- Required only if arriving from a country with yellow fever risk
- The vaccine must be administered at least 10 days before entry
Travel Insurance
- Certified Africa requires travel medical insurance that covers $50,000 or more for medical evacuation and at least $25,000 in medical coverage
