Today, you arrive in the motherland. You will be picked up by our team at the Diass international airport Blaise Diagne.

Enjoy a bottle of mineral water and a refreshing napkin as you head to your accommodation.

Later today, you will be hosted to a welcome dinner with some local artists to connect.

Enjoy the rest of your day relaxing in preparation for the journey ahead.

Wake up to the beautiful sounds of the African birds. After enjoying your breakfast, we will head out to explore the city of Dakar. We’ll explore the

• Craft village of Soumbédioune
• Presidential palace, 
• Independence grounds 
• the Chamber of Commerce
• Kermel market
• Museum of Black Civilizations
• Monument of the African Renaissance,
•  Masalikoul Jinane Mosque (Built to the glory of Sheikh Ahmadou Bamba (founder of Mouridism). Massalikoul jinane culminates at 75 meters high. 
• Almadies
• Take a boat ride to Ngor Island for a local artist studio visit

Lunch: La Maree Chez Adji

Dinner: La Maison d’Italie (Ngor Island) or Hotel Terrou-bi Restaurant

Activity level: Active and you may need some sneakers.

Today we will immerse ourselves in the ongoing Dak'art festival exploring the many beautiful and creative displays by very renowned and upcoming artists.

This is a day to wander in the creativity of local and international artists assembled in one capital.

You can explore Dakar nightlife later in the evening as you wish.

Depart for the Gorée pier to take a ferry to the island of Gorée. Upon arriving, you will receive a brief orientation about the island before setting out to experience it.

We will then stroll through its steets and visit the slave house museum, where enslaved  Africans were gathered, selected, and locked up as they awaited shipment to the other side of the Atlantic.

You will also visit the Church of Saint Charles Borromée.

Gorée island holds very fond memories from colonial times but it has also become an artistic refuge. We will finish the tour by attending a fascinating sand painting workshop detailing the art of sand painting. 

Upon returning from Goree Island, we will head to the festival for the rest of the day.

Dinner: The Union Club

Activity level: Moderate and involves boarding a local boat.

Today, we will discover the Lake Retba, better known as pink lake and the last stage of the world famous Paris - Dakar rally.

You will experience the amazing river that turns pink due to its high salt and other content. It is believe that it holds lots of spiritual essence for making wishes come true.

Drive in the famous Pink lake 4x4 for the last stage of the famous Dakar Rally.

For those who have the courage of riding a camel or quad bikes in the sand dunes, can do so here as an option.   

Relax by the ocean later in the day after a long day of exploring.

Dinner: Les Manguiers Hotel Restautant

Activity level: Moderate and involves boading a local boat.

Today you will enjoy some safari time today at the Bandia Reserve. You will take a lagoon boat ride in the mangroves and an early lunch at a famous spot on an island before heading to Bandia.

On your game drive, you will spot a myriad of trees and most importantly some animals such as buffaloes, gazelles, giraffes, rhinos, ostriches, baboons and up to twenty different species among other animals.

For those who want to have a wild adventure... playing in the lion's den is an option. You will be in a caged car and drive through a group of lions during your time at the reserve.

Dinner: La Cabane Ngaparou

Today is a free day and you call the shots. You can enjoy the day at the hotel relaxing, swimming in the pool, hitting the spa or enjoying the beach.

For those who wish to explore some more, our team will recommend some optional tours for you.

Today, you will get the change to explore the somone mongrooves.
